Island Countertops You can order your custom designed countertops from BBM Impex with no seams (within workable design, shipping, and weight specifications). Seamless countertops are esthetically more pleasing while functionally superior, eliminating the possibility of mismatched edges. We find advantageous to use 3cm (11/4") thick material for our countertops instead of using 2cm (0.75") as it provides extra strength of 3cm thick further reducing the lamination of edge and hence a seamless counter. This makes the material stronger and hence providing 3/4" plywood sub-surface is not required to back the granite although you will need proper structural support.
